Ok so first type your text. NOTE: This works on almost all versions of Photoshop!
Now highlight it.
Now click the "A" button on the center right portion of your screen.
Now see where it says AV with a line with two arrows under it? Click on the arrow and a dropdown box will appear.
Select something like -100
And then your done!
